The Career Fairs drew youth from schools and other disability organizations in the Metro and others traveled from as far as Worcester and the Overberg. Others were drawn to the event through the publicity in both electronic and print media.
This event once again confirmed the need to create a platform where youth with disabilities can gain access to employers and organisations that are committed to the economic empowerment of persons with disabilities. Through the activities, speeches, and workshops, the Career Fairs provided all who participated with an opportunity to take steps towards building an inclusive society.
The DWDE aims to grow this annual event in the Western Cape Province and beyond and hopes that youth in other parts of the country can access these kinds of opportunities.
At the event, engaging with the media has been important in raising awareness both before the event and after. The DWDE featured in printed media, radio and TV both locally and nationally.
